Ernest Pytlarczyk
He holds a PhD in economics and is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst). In the past, he was chief economist at mBank and financial markets analyst at Bank Handlowy. He worked as a researcher at the Institute for Business Cycles at the University of Hamburg and at Germany's central bank in Frankfurt. Hobbies: not obvious, but he assures that they are interesting.
Macroeconomic analysis team
We keep abreast of major economic events and readings of macroeconomic and financial data. We subject them to analysis and formulate forecasts. We try our best to understand the economic reality around us - the state of the economy and the mood of the markets. We share our conclusions and forecasts in daily, weekly and monthly economic newspapers and special reports.
Piotr Bartkiewicz
At Bank Pekao since April 2020, he gained his earlier training at the Institute for Structural Research and mBank. Macroeconomic and financial markets analyst. At work, he is a “fox”: he strives to use the most diverse sources of information possible, explore new areas, analyze data with diverse methods, synthesize them, understand the world and the mechanisms that govern it, and make accurate predictions. He is a doctoral student at the Warsaw School of Economics. In his spare time, he travels, runs, flies around the world and keeps his nose in books.
Aleksandra Beśka
Ola started working at the bank in August 2020. She gained her professional experience in the macro team of the Crédit Agricole bank and the Polish Economic Institute. She is a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics with a specialization in econometrics, and during her studies she was additionally involved in peri-student activities, serving as president of the Econometrics Scientific Circle. In addition to mainstream economic issues, she is interested in the topic of social inequality, and at the Team she is responsible for the analysis and forecasting of labor market indicators.
Kamil Łuczkowski
Kamil has been working at the bank since 2018. He gathered his professional experience in various institutions: from banking macro teams to analytical cells in the public sector. He specializes in quantitative analysis using time series econometrics and machine learning methods. Econometric modeling and forecasting are his domain. He programs everything in the R environment. Outside of work, he is often on the road, both in Poland and abroad. A proponent of minimalist living, with concern for the environment.
Karol Pogorzelski
He writes about economic policy - monetary and fiscal - and the economics of everyday life. He holds a PhD in economics from the UW and is a graduate in economics and philosophy. Before joining Pekao, he worked as an economist at ING Bank and before that at Deloitte and the Institute for Structural Research. In his spare time, he is interested in railroad issues and space exploration.
Sebastian A. Roy
Sebastian joined the Pekao Bank team in 2023. Prior to joining Pekao Tower, he worked as a chief specialist in the Macroeconomic Policy Department of the Ministry of Finance, as well as at the European Central Bank. He has an academic interest in financial macroeconometrics, particularly the impact of fiscal policy on financial sector stability. A graduate of Universite Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, he is currently preparing his dissertation on the transmission of public debt valuation shocks. After work, he roams the streets of Warsaw with a camera in his hand and Arleen Auger's soprano in his ears.

Sector analysis team
We look at the Polish economy more from a micro-perspective - through the prism of various sectors. We create comprehensive reports dedicated to individual industries, but also cross-sectional materials that enable comparisons between them. Each month we also publish a synthesis of the most important trends in key commodity markets, and together with the Market Analysis and Forecasting Team we co-create special reports dedicated to important developments in the global and domestic environment.
Krzysztof Mrówczyński
Krzysztof has been with Pekao Bank for more than 10 years, during which he has supported business processes both in terms of sector expertise, as well as taking an active part in the creation and implementation of the bank's strategy and numerous transformation and commercial projects. He has been involved in sector analysis since the beginning of his career, i.e. since 2006, currently heading this area at Pekao Bank. Privately, he is a lover and organizer of family trips (both far and near) and family recreation in nature.
Paweł Kowalski
Pawel has worked in Bank Pekao's Sector Analysis Team since 2011, and during this time he has accumulated extensive knowledge of most branches of the Polish economy. He has devoted most of his time to the agri-food, transportation, IT, clothing and footwear industries. Previously, he spent 8 years doing market research and macroeconomic analysis at DZ Bank Poland and AIG Bank Poland. He is not intimidated by large data sets or graphical presentation of conclusions. With a detective's flair, he collects and analyzes information, which he quickly synthesizes into a logical whole. Privately, he is passionate about history, fantasy, distant travel, strategy games and metal music.

Magdalena Płaczek
Magda joined the Sector Analysis Team in September 2023. She studied Finance and Accounting at the Warsaw School of Economics. Her first professional experience was at Goldman Sachs bank. The following years she worked in the Financial Markets Sales Department at mBank as a Commodity Dealer. She worked with companies in the energy, metals and agricultural industries in hedging commodity price volatility. She remains connected to the commodity market in the realm of analysis. In her spare time, she plans to travel more.
Grzegorz Rykaczewski
Grzesiek joined the Pekao Bank team in 2022. He is involved in the analysis of the agri-food sector. He gained professional experience in banking (Santander Bank Poland, Bank BGŻ) and government administration (Agricultural Market Agency). In his free time, he travels by rail, listens to metal music and watches matches of the Polish 3rd football league.
