Let's be #CYBERvigilant - a new educational campaign by Bank Pekao
Pekao has launched a new nationwide social media campaign “Let’s be #CYBERczujni”, the aim of which is to increase Poles’ awareness of cybersecurity. The initiative is being implemented as part of the #cyberPekao programme.
According to the Bank Pekao report “Do you feel safe on the Internet”, as many as 13 million adult Internet users have been affected by at least one cybercrime. Fake text messages, impersonating bank employees, requests for quick transfers and seemingly attractive investments – these are some of the methods that cybercriminals use to steal data or money every day.
Considering the growing dangers in the digital space and the social educational needs, the bank has prepared a social campaign aimed at increasing Poles’ awareness of potential threats in the virtual world. As part of the campaign, the bank will broadcast a total of 6 spots, each of which will present a different type of threat. The 30-second recordings show the protagonist in everyday situations, when he faces an attempt to extort data or money. All stories lead to a few short tips on how to proceed in the event of a cyberattack. - We fully understand the responsibility for building a safe cyberspace that rests with the financial sector.
Therefore, our primary goal is to increase consumer awareness of online threats, their consequences, as well as solutions that will make it safer for them to navigate the web and use electronic banking in a conscious manner - says Michał Nagórka, Director of the Pekao S.A. Bank Security Center. In addition to the online campaign, Pekao Bank is also focusing on offline education.
Throughout November, at 8 Jaworzyńska Street in Warsaw, you will be able to see an interactive mural presenting several dozen rhetorical questions about different types of cyber threats. The images appearing on the screen will increase recipients' awareness and draw attention to the problem of increasingly common digital threats. - In the latest campaign, we want to raise awareness of the potential threats Internet users are exposed to, regardless of the environment they are in and the situations they are in. This time, our activities are not limited to digital ones.
We want the campaign to reach the widest possible audience, hence the idea to create an unconventional, attention-grabbing, intriguing and thought-provoking interactive mural - emphasizes Jorge Sánchez, acting director of the Marketing Department of Bank Pekao S.A. Bank Pekao regularly engages in educating its customers and tries to increase their awareness of digital security.
Every user of the PeoPay application and the Pekao24 service has the opportunity to use security tools: two-factor login or employee identity confirmation via push messages. In addition, the bank conducts a number of educational activities to support its customers in a responsible approach to data security and savings.
